Wait

I am waiting for you
Dazed in the crowded metro
I float among the murmurs
Of hushed couples and silent strangers

Waiting, to see your face
Amidst suspended smoke and echoes
Of slurred words and sudden stops
Will you ever come to find me?

Fields of concrete and alarm birds
Build the walls of my urban vision
Where I wish on polluted stars
And close my eyes in impatient crowds

Lost in between the rushing hours
The lights still sparkle over crying sirens
And eyes that seek their unfamiliar home
Will search until the weight is lifted

Our faces may be beyond recognition
But still I hope to see you
As I climb onto the next train
Of this unpredictable life line
